Tropical Storm Nicholas made landfall Monday night on the Gulf Coast of Texas and is bringing dangerous winds, power outages, and extensive flooding to the area. Houston is in the pathway of Nicholas and could expect to see 8 to 16 inches of rain. Due to these weather conditions, we are experiencing impacts to our cargo operation at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Customer Service Center in Houston.
Effective immediately through Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 23:59 CDT, we will be imposing the following restrictions at IAH cargo facility:
- All inbound and outbound cargo is restricted for specialty products. This includes: QuickPak, LifeGuard, TempControl, TrustUA, UASecure, and perishables.
- All cargo is restricted on inbound narrowbody flights.
- We will continue to accept GCR and EXP cargo for widebody flights only.
Please note: United Cargo's Customer Service Center in Houston is being impacted by the inclement weather and is currently experiencing delays in responding to emails and calls. We appreciate your patience as we work to answer all requests as quickly as possible.
Restricted cargo currently in transit destined for IAH will be held at the upline station during the times listed above. We will continue to move outbound cargo at IAH on flights as weather permits, though there may be a delay. Cargo expected to arrive to IAH on widebody flights may also be delayed.
